Prue Rayner

Academy Council Member (Chair)

Prue gained a BEd (hons) in 1983 at the University of London, and after graduation followed a career path which led her to, amongst others, Milton Road Infant School, Fulbourn Primary School and Stretham Primary School in Cambridgeshire. She took on leadership of Caldecote Primary School which saw her assume her first role as headteacher.

Prue has experience of taking on the leadership of a school in special measures and bringing about substantial improvement. She was drawn to primary teaching because of her love of children’s zest for life, ability to learn, to be resilient and to make life joyful. Her own experience of primary education was not as positive as those she wishes to create for the pupils of Anglian Learning.

During her career, Prue has developed experience of both secondary education and the provision of education for pupils who have special educational needs. Prue has subsequently held a variety of positions leading school improvement across a variety of schools and circumstances. Her most recent position was as a Senior Her Majesty’s Inspector with Ofsted during which, amongst other responsibilities, she led a variety of school inspections as well as local authority special educational needs inspections. Prue is currently an Ofsted Inspector and is supporting the LA with the development of SEND specialist provision.
